The time lapse feature, available with many of the dash camera models assists with the parking monitor feature and records a constant time lapse of the events that happen over the course of the night. Similar to Parkmode, this requires the installation of a 3-wire hardwire kit.

The timelapse will record over the whole night, and saves space be recording a clip that moves a lot faster, requiring lesser detail.

You can adjust the length of the time lapse in the device settings, with options of 2 hours / 8 hours / 12 hours / 24 hours / Always on.

The dash camera will stop recording after the time lapse duration expires. If set to Always on, time lapse mode will continue until your car is restarted.
